We would love to have you as a volunteer! If you are 18 or older, please complete the Safe Environment training online. If you are under 18 then you need to be supervised by an adult who has taken the training.
All volunteers and employees of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston must complete the Safe Environment Video Training.

Serve in Our Parish
- Art and Environment – help with the flowers and plants in the church
- Councils and Committees – lay leadership for Pastoral and Finance
- Faith Formation – Catechists, assistant catechists, and baptism class teachers
- Funeral Reception Committee - Plans, shops, cooks, sets up and decorates the hall for parishioner funeral luncheons. Our mission is to help ease a difficult time for our parish families.
- Homebound & Nursing Home Ministry – healing, comfort, and support for those who can't join us in person
- International Food Festival – help with organizing this event
- Liturgical Ministers – altar servers, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, ushers, lectors
- Music Ministry – singers, cantors, instrumentalist
- Youth ministry – work with teen youth groups, plan and chaperone retreats, etc.
- Office Angels – help with clerical and other assorted tasks at your convenience
- Saint Vincent de Paul - help with the food pantry, rent and bill assistance, etc.

SAFE HAVEN / SAFE ENVIRONMENT TRAINING FOR ADULTS
(Formerly VIRTUS training)ABOUT:
Safe environment training is designed to educate clergy, staff, and volunteers about child protection policies and procedures to ensure the safety of children and vulnerable individuals within the Church community.
WHO MUST COMPLETE IT:
If you are 18 years old and above, our archdiocese requires all adult volunteers to complete safe environment training.
SAFE ENVIROMENT TRAINING:
This short one-hour online training teaches people how to create a secure and protected environment for everyone, especially children, by recognizing and preventing potential risks or harm
All adult volunteers are required to be Safe Haven trained. Within one month of beginning to volunteer or serve as a minister, please ensure you have taken or renewed your training.
TRAINING FOR ADULTS
PREVIOUSLY ATTENDED VIRTUS TRAINING- If you have completed VIRTUS training in the past 5 years, do not create a new account in CMGConnect.
- You will log in with your previous personal user id from VIRTUS and enter the password 1234. Once you log into your CMGConnect account, you can change your password.

NEW USERS (NEVER ATTENDED A TRAINING BEFORE)
- If you have never attended VIRTUS training or taken the Safe Haven online training, please register to create a new account via CMGConnect at https://GalvestonHouston.CMGConnect.org.

You must complete a criminal background check as part of the registration process. Failure to complete the criminal background check will delay the approval process for volunteer service.
