Marriages outside our Archdiocese: The completed marriage file is sent to our bishop’s office for permission to marry outside the diocese and “nihil obstat.” The marriage file should include the pre-nuptial questionnaire, baptismal certificates of the couple issued within six months, affidavits of free status (2 each for the bride and groom), and a certificate of marriage preparation. It should indicate the diocese of the wedding location church, and a letter (fully addressed) from the pastor of the couple to the pastor of the parish where the wedding will take place granting permission for the couple to be married outside the jurisdiction of the parish must also be included.

 Getting Married at St. Bartholomew
 

• Engaged couples need to call 281-391-4758  to schedule an appointment for the prenuptial questionnaire and witness affidavits of free status  (two witnesses for the groom and two for the bride). A copy of a recently issued baptismal certificate is required from the couple.
• Couples may be required to provide additional documentation depending on their marital status. For example, any civilly married couple must bring their marriage license. In addition, if you have ever been involved in any previous marriage, your situation might require an annulment of your previous marriages before you can marry your new spouse.
• St. Bartholomew's Church offers group wedding celebrations free of charge twice a year in July and December, on a Saturday at 12 pm. The parish even pays for the music.

Couples must contact Elida Villareal, the parish office, to book the Church for the wedding date with a deposit. The couples may book the Church after the marriage investigation has been completed.

 The marriage file should contain the following:

1. Pre-nuptial questionnaire filled out.
2. Updated copies of Baptism Certificates 
3. 4 Affidavit of Free Status: Two for the groom and two for the bride.
4. Certificate of Some marriage preparation
5. Eventually – The civil Marriage License will be signed by the priest or the judge. 
6. Only for special situations: Mixed marriage, Lack of canonical form (previous civil marriages of a Catholic), the annulment decree for a previous marriage.

Wedding Donation & Fees:

• Couples planning to have their private ceremony at St. Bartholomew are required to make a financial contribution to help cover the cost of the services provided, such as marriage preparation, the use of the Church, meeting rooms, and parish maintenance (AC and heating as needed). Such a donation is payable to the parish when the date of the private ceremony is reserved.
• Fee for use of facilities:
  Group Weddings in July and December: $0 for parishioners or non-parishioners. The parish will cover the expense for the use of the church and the music for communal ceremonies.
  Private Ceremony in the main sanctuary: Friday 4 pm, Sat. 10 am, 12 pm, 2 pm: $400 parishioners or $800 non-parishioners.
  Private Ceremony in the Chapel: On Saturday at 1 pm only. $200 parishioners or $400 non-Parishioners.
   

• $0 - No fee for using the chruch or music. The parish will assume all the expenses.

Music

•  Responsibility for all wedding music at Saint Bartholomew the Apostle Catholic Church is delegated to St. Bart's Music Staff, who will assist you in planning the music for your wedding. Contact the Music Director three months before the wedding date to discuss the music for the wedding. Hiring a Parish Organist and Cantor is required for weddings at St. Bartholomew's main church.

The fees must be paid directly to the Music Director at least 30 days before the wedding, along with the music selection.

Couples can get a certificate of completion of Marriage Preparation from the church office to get a discount when purchasing their Marriage License at the courthouse.

Matrimonios fuera de nuestra Arquidiócesis: El expediente de matrimonio completo se envía a la oficina de nuestro obispo para obtener permiso para casarse fuera de la diócesis y "nihil obstat". El expediente de matrimonio debe incluir el cuestionario prenupcial, los certificados de bautismo de la pareja emitidos en los últimos seis meses, declaraciones juradas de estado civil (2 cada una para la novia y el novio) y un certificado de preparación matrimonial. Debe indicar la diócesis de la parroquia donde se llevará a cabo la boda, y también se debe incluir una carta (con domicilio completo) del párroco de la pareja al párroco de la parroquia donde se llevará a cabo la boda, otorgando permiso para que la pareja se case fuera de la jurisdicción de la parroquia.

• Cita inicial.  Las parejas comprometidas deben contactar  281-391-4758 para hacer una cita para completar el cuestionario prenupcial y la declaración jurada de dos testigos para el novio y dos para la novia.  Las parejas también necesitarán presentar el certificado de bautismo original con fecha reciente de cada uno.
• Dependiendo del estado matrimonial, puede que algunas parejas tengan que traer otros documentos adicionales. Por ejemplo, parejas que ya se han casado por lo civil tendrán que traer la licencia matrimonial. Además, si alguno de los pretendientes ha estado casado antes, puede que requiera anular el matrimonio anterior antes de casarse de nuevo.
• Las parejas deben contactar a la Elida Villanueva, Coordinadora de Matrimonios para reservar su fecha y la iglesia para la ceremonia pagando un depósito. Las parejas pueden reservar la fecha y la iglesia después de que se ha completado el questionario prematrimonial.
• La Parroquia San Bartolomé ofrece celebraciones grupales matrimoniales sin ningun costo para las parejas dos veces al año, en julio y en diciembre, un sábado a la 12 PM. Incluso la iglesia se encarga del gasto de los musicos para las celebraciones comunitarias.

Donaciones por la Ceremonia
Se les pide a las parejas que desean celebrar su boda en St. Bartolomé hacer una contribución econimica que ayudará a cubrir los gastos de servicios proporcionados como la preparación del matrimonio, el uso de la iglesia/capilla, oficinas/salones de reuniones, mantenimiento de la parroquia (aire acondicionado / calefacción cuando se necesita). Esta donación se podrá pagar cuando se aparta la iglesia para la ceremonia.  Las ceremonias en grupo son gratis para la pareja y tenemos dos ceremonias cada año, una en julio y otra en diciembre.

Tarifa por uso de instalaciones:
Bodas grupales en julio y diciembre: $0 para feligreses o no feligreses. La parroquia cubrirá los gastos de uso de la iglesia y la música para las ceremonias comunales.
Ceremonia privada en el santuario principal: viernes 4 pm, sáb. 10 am, 12 pm, 2 pm: $400 feligreses o $800 no feligreses.
Ceremonia Privada en la Capilla: El sábado a las 13 horas únicamente. $200 feligreses o $400 no feligreses.

Musica

•  La responsabilidad sobre toda la música para las bodas en San Bartolomé es delegada al personal de St. Barts, quien le asistirá en la planeación de la musica para su boda. Contacte al Director de Música trees meses previos a la ceremonia para discutir la música. El uso del Organista y Cantor de la parroquia es requerido para todas las ceremonias celebradas en San Bartolome y los honorarios son:
  • Cantor — $200
  • Organista — $250 

Los honorarios se deben de dar al Diretor de Musica al menos 30 días antes de la boda junto con la selección de música. 

El sacramento del matrimonio es celebrado por el padre sin cargo alguno.
En agradecimiento por su matrimonio, muchas parejas dan un aporte monetario al sacerdote.
Sugerimos una donación de $200 para el sacerdote que preside la ceremonia y $100 para el Diácono que acompaña.
Estos son entregados directamente a cada uno en sobre personalizado.
Independientemente de nuestra recomendación, la cantidad que aporten queda a discreción de la pareja.
 
Todas las donaciones y pagos, exepto para musicos o clerigos, pueden ser efectuados en la oficina de de St. Bartholomew Church.  Por favor pida un recibo que indique la fecha y hora de la ceremonia.

¿Tiene dificultades financieras? Algunas parejas pueden tener dificultades con su situación financiera.  Las limitaciones financieras no deben evitar la recepcion del sacramento del Santo Matrimonio. Por favor, háganos saber su situación para que podamos ayudarle.
