Mr. Mark Wuenscher, our current volunteer coordinator, has decided to step down from this role after dedicating much time and effort to supporting and promoting pro-life causes in our community.
To fill the void left by Mr. Wuenscher, we are now seeking someone to take over as a volunteer coordinator. This crucial position requires dedication, organization, and the ability to lead a team of volunteers in our mission to promote respect for all human life.
As a member of our Respect Life Ministry, you can play a crucial role in advancing the pro-life cause in our community. Whether you are interested in coordinating the volunteer efforts or becoming a part of the team, we strongly encourage you to fill out the following form to express your interest:
Once we get your completed form, we will review your application and reach out to you to discuss the next steps. If you have any questions or require further information, please do not hesitate to contact our Respect Life Ministry team at [contact email/number](contact email/number).
Thank you for your support and dedication to our mission. Together, we can create a more compassionate and just society for all.
Sincerely in Christ,
Fr. Miguel Solorzano, Pastor
St. Bartholomew Church.

Archdiocesan Guidelines for Catholic Prayer at Abortion Clinics
Over ten years ago, the Respect Life ministry at St. Bartholomew joined the “Forty Churches” program of the Houston Coalition for Life in order to help maintain a peaceful prayerful presence on the sidewalk in front of one of the largest abortion clinics in the world.
As part of that program, parishioners of St. Bartholomew pray at the
Planned Parenthood clinic (4600 Gulf Freeway, Houston, TX 77023) on the third Friday of all odd-
numbered months (Jan, Mar, May, Jul, Sep and Nov). We split each day into three 2 ½ hour shifts, but you are welcome to come for any length of time. We car pool for each shift from the St. Bartholomew parking lot, leaving at 6:30 AM, 9 AM, and 11:30 am. (We also pass out bilingual coupons for free ultrasounds and free pregnancy tests.)
Big Blue Bus is at Planned Parenthood 7am to 3pm Monday thru Thursday but only 7am - 11am on Fridays. Hours and locations for Baby Blue Bus vary at other abortion clinics.

There are really only "5 rules" for the sidewalk:
(1) Do not park or walk on Planned Parenthood Property or any other private property.
(2) If anyone approaches you, respond with the love of Christ.
(3) If you want to hold a sign please request one of those provided by Houston Coalition.
(4) Please focus on staying in a mode of prayer while you are out there.
(5) Please sign the Statement of Peace*.
It has always been encouraged for people to spread out and focus the prayer towards the abortion facility, unless you are a trained sidewalk couselor. At this point, masks are optional. Please be respectful of those who prefer to wear them or prefer not to wear them. This is not the place to debate masks, and the devil wants to divide and destract from the real risk that is present at the abortion facility - the risk of the unborn and their mothers being harmed by the proceedure known as abortion.

If a pregnant woman has questions about abortion or about help in the community, you can always refer them to our Big Blue Bus or Baby Blue to speak with our nurses. If you feel called to reach out to the pregnant girls, please first take the Sidewalk Counselor Training made available for free by the Houston Coalition for Life by contacting me at [email protected].
On the Houston Coalition for Life website you can see more about the practical partnership offered by the Big Blue Bus, the mobile CPC that offers free pregnancy tests, ultrasounds and resources to pregnant women outside of the Planned Parenthood: http://www.houstoncoalition.com/the-big-blue-bus
** DIRECTIONS: We have found that most people have trouble finding the entrance to Planned Parenthood, but they don’t have trouble finding the Catholic Charismatic Center (1949 Cullen Blvd, Houston, TX 77023).
From the Catholic Charismatic Center you would go under the freeway to the intersection of I45 and Cullen. Then head South bound on the feeder road of I45.
When the I45S feeder road splits, take a slight LEFT over the over-pass.
(Please keep in mind that the speed limit going over the overpass is 40mph and there are several officers who pull people over right there.)
Then turn RIGHT at the bottom of overpass onto Eleanor Tinsley Way.
Then turn RIGHT onto Gulf Crest.
**PARKING: Please parallel park along Gulf Crest or along Eleanor Tinsley Way.
It is true that "anyone" of any age can come pray on the sidewalk as they would in their room or anywhere else, yet so few actually do. And each person offers a unique prayer and unique perspective as they beg God to have mercy on this country and end abortion! Each one witnesses to the dignity of the human life where it is so brutally denied.
